AERO-Classics Oil Coolers come in three mounting variations

Rear-mount

These oil coolers bolt directly to the engine and don’t require hoses. Many Continental engines use this type of oil cooler installation, though there are several bolt configurations and variations within this mounting type.

Front-mount

Like rear-mount oil coolers, front-mount oil coolers bolt directly to the engine and don’t require hoses. Many Continental engines use this type of oil cooler.

Remote-mount

This type of oil cooler mounts to the airframe or engine baffle and is connected to the engine by hoses. Most non-Continental engines and all Lycoming engines use this type of oil cooler.

Stewart-Warner (Meggitt) oil coolers have long been the legacy standard oil cooler found on many certified and experimental aircraft. But AERO-Classics oil coolers offer similar or higher efficiency, better affordability, greater availability, and a lighter weight—all with FAA-PMA approval.

Note: Some aviation suppliers sell Stewart-Warner oil coolers as ‘fit’ replacements, but they’re not furnished with FAA-PMA approval for that application—even if they have the same part number and manufacturer as approved parts.
